is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or any other language, without the written consent of the publisher and its submission has the approval of the all co-authors and the authorities of the host institute where work has been carried out. All papers should be written in English. Manuscripts may be sent enclosing a covering letter providing name, address and email of three competent referees who would be reviewers for the manuscript.
Manuscript preparation
General: Manuscripts must be type written (12 pt font size), double spaced on one side of A4 size bond paper with 2.5 cm margin on all sides. Authors should consult the recent issue of the journal for style and format and incomplete with any respect including tables, figures and references, it will be returned to the author to resubmit it after attending to all changes.
Two referees and an editorial board member will review all submissions and the points raised will be intimated for action. The authors are expected to revise the manuscript as per the suggestions of referees and editor. The revised manuscript with serially numbered pages up to the last page should be submitted in disks along with two print copies of the revised and the original manuscript Arrangement of manuscript:
The manuscript should be arranged in the following order:
Title page: The title is to be typed in sentence case letters. Authors name(s) should be followed by their institutional affiliation. The corresponding author should be indicated by an asterix and full address including e-mail details should be provided.
Abstract: Each paper should have an abstract not exceeding 250 words, reporting concisely the objective, methodology and results. Abstract should be followed by at least 6 key words reflecting the main topics of the paper.
Text: The text should start on a new page with introduction (without heading), materials and methods, results and discussion, acknowledgement (if any) and references. Materials and methods should include details of sampling methods, replicates and relevant method of statistical analysis. Scientific names should be given for all biological names when first used. All vernacular names like pulav, kabab etc., must be in italics and briefly described when first used. Varietal names such as 'IR 150', 'Pb 56' must be in single inverted commas. Results and discussion may be combined. All abbreviations and symbols should be as per the journal style.
References: In the text reference to publication should be with the author(s) name and year of publication in bracket e.g. (Smith 1990, Smith and Gibbons 1990, Smith et al 1992). All publications cited in the text should be presented in the list under References in alphabetical order. The titles of all scientific periodicals should be abbreviated as in Chemical Abstracts, Biological Abstracts and Annual BIOSIS. Unpublished data including thesis and dissertation or personal communications should not be cited.

Tables: Tables, numbered consecutively with Arabic numbers and indicated in serial order in text are to be typed on separate sheets and placed after the Reference section. No vertical lines in between columns should be drawn and no table should have more than 12 columns. Nil results should be indicated by ND (not detected), while absence of data by the sign, '-'. The mean±S.D/SEM should be indicated as footnote.
Illustrations: All illustrations should be provided in a form and size suitable for reproduction and each figure should not exceed half the size of the A4 page and letters should not be less than 10 pt size as it should maintain legibility when reduced to column size.
All photographs, charts and diagrams should be indicated as "Figure's" and numbered consecutively as per the order in which they are referred in the text. They should accompany the manuscript, but should not be included within the text. All figures should have a caption. Original photographs must be supplied. Line drawings and graphs should be preferably computer generated in MS Excel. Xerox copies of graphs/drawing and photographs are not acceptable.
Proofs: Corresponding author will receive page-proofs for correction of type-setting errors which should be returned immediately after attending to all corrections. No major changes or addition in the paper including the additions of new authors names are allowed at this stage.
Copyright: The author(s) should fill and send a signed copyright form while submitting the manuscript, which automatically transfers the copyrights from authors to the journal.
